The Boring Thickness module enables measurement of total coating thickness and individual layer thicknesses in multi-coat systems using a destructive coating thickness measurement by means of a coating drill (Säberg‑type) according to ISO and ASTM Methods.
The module is supplied as standard with a Säberg drill featuring a 5.7° cutting angle, optimised for typical coating thickness ranges up to 200μm on paints and protective coating systems; additional drills with alternative cutting angles are available to cover thinner and thicker systems.
